Eric Furfine

Chief Executive and Scientific Officer

Eric brings experience in leadership roles in biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies to the role of Chief Executive and Scientific Office at Mosaic.

He is a visionary leader and drug hunter in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry. As CSO and President of R&D at Eleven Biotherapeutics, his leadership drove an IPO that financed Phase 3 clinical studies and a lucrative licensing deal on a second therapeutic asset. His building the Adnectin protein therapeutic discovery platform at Adnexus resulted in the acquisition of the company by BMS, where subsequently five adnectins were advanced into clinical studies. As VP Preclinical Development at Regeneron, he played pivotal roles in developing game-changing drugs, such as Eylea.

Marty Stanton

Chief Executive and Operating Officers

Marty brings C-Level experience in a variety of biopharma, diagnostic, and instrumentation companies to his role as Chief Executive and Operating Officer at Mosaic.

Marty is an accomplished innovator and leader in biotechnology: Marty founded Mosaic in 2009 and continues to lead the company as co-CEO with Eric Furfine. Prior to founding Mosaic, Marty's inventive prowess in the CSO and COO roles at SomaLogic led to the invention of the groundbreaking SomaScan assay. As Co-founder and President of Dexela, he spearheaded the advancement of 3D breast imaging technology. Prior to that, as the founder and President of Archemix, Marty's exceptional leadership skills enabled the successful fundraising of over $100 million for the development of aptamer therapeutics. Marty received his PhD in Biophysics from Brandeis University.

Scott Glaser PhD

Sr. Vice President, Biologics Discovery

Scott brings 30+ years of experience in biologic drug discovery to Mosaic’s partners.

Scott previously served as Director of Antibody Therapeutics for Novartis (GNF) where he led antibody discovery and platform development efforts. Scott also worked at Pfizer as Sr. Director/ Site Head of the San Diego Centers for Therapeutic Innovations where he built the discovery team and participated in implementing CTI’s model for academic-industry collaboration. Prior to Pfizer, Scott led Antibody Therapeutics at Biogen Idec.

Over his career Scott has contributed to over 50 discovery programs, with multiple molecules advancing into clinical development. He has also pioneered protein technologies, demonstrated by his co-inventorship of 23 issued US patents and multiple pending applications.

Malavi Madireddi PhD

Sr. Vice President, Drug Discovery

Malavi is adept at transforming biological concepts into successful drugs. Her knowledge of underlying disease mechanisms is matched with her understanding of how drugs are discovered, developed, and commercialized.

Over the last 25+ years Malavi has successfully led drug discovery teams across multiple therapeutic areas and target classes using both small molecule and biologics modalities, experience she brings to projects she engages at Mosaic Bio.

Following a successful career in Drug Discovery and Early Development at Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), Malavi served as the Head of Clinical Development at JDRF-International, where she acquired a patient advocacy perspective in her approach to developing new drugs for clinical assessment.

Most recently at BMS, Malavi was Head of Innovative Collaborations - Worldwide Medical Affairs , applying her R&D insights to drive strategic external scientific collaborations and supported Medical Evidence Generation.

Tracey Mulley

Chief Strategy Officer

Tracey Mullen brings extensive experience in both drug discovery and biopharma commercial development. Prior to joining Mosaic, Tracey served as Senior Vice President of Biopharma at Twist Biosciences, which she joined through the acquisition of Abveris in November of 2021. At Twist, Tracey managed the Biopharma Solutions business unit, which included the integrated legacy Twist Biopharma and Abveris teams. Prior to Twist, she served as CEO of Abveris, a company offering premium in vivo antibody drug discovery services. Tracey initially served as Abveris’ Chief Operating Officer where she managed operations and project development for both therapeutic and critical reagent in vivo antibody discovery campaigns. Before Abveris, she served on the antibody discovery team at Biogen where she helped implement the technology transfer of the Adimab yeast display platform for antibody discovery and engineering. Previously she worked for Abpro, a contract research organization specializing in in vivo antibody discovery.

Tracey received her B.S. in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology

Luyuan Fan Mendhi

Chief Financial Officer

Luyuan Fan Mendhi brings extensive experience in finance and strategy in the biopharma industry. Before joining Mosaic, she served as Vice President and Head of Finance at Alloy Therapeutics, where she managed all aspects of Finance. Prior to Alloy, Luyuan was a Director at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR), where she led strategic projects and managed a Business Planning & Analysis team that supported over 15 disease areas and functions, with a budget exceeding $600M. Additionally, she contributed to business development and licensing deals, and completed a secondment with the US Oncology Franchise, where she facilitated the successful launch of Scemblix for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia. Earlier in her career, as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, she led life sciences projects across San Francisco, Boston and London. She began her career in financial services at JPMorgan in New York.

Luyuan holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Economics from Duke University, an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management, and an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School

Stacy Capehart

Director Protein Therapeutics

Stacy leads the Protein Sciences Team as well as multiple partner programs

She has held roles of increasing responsibility since joining Mosaic Biosciences in 2019. As a Director at Mosaic Biosciences, Stacy has led several teams for projects involving protein engineering, expression, chemical modification, and characterization as well as bioassay development and external PK/PD studies. Prior to joining Mosaic, Stacy conducted integral research at Editas Medicine and Velocity Sciences. Stacy received her Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.

Alexei Kazantsev

Sr. Director Bioinformatics

Alexei leads the Bioinformatic team as well as multiple parter programs

He is a gifted scientist with domain expertise spanning structural and chemical biology, protein engineering, and tissue engineering. At Mosaic Biosciences, he spearheaded efforts to optimize the pharmacokinetic properties and selectivity of therapeutic protein candidates and led the design and development of hydrogel matrices for drug delivery and tissue regeneration. Prior to joining Mosaic, he conducted structural biology research on RNA and proteins using X-ray crystallography and SAXS techniques. Alexei received his PhD in Biochemistry from Indiana University Bloomington.

Maggie Allman BA, PHR

Head of People

Maggie ensures that Mosaic’s highly skilled scientific and business experts succeed both at work and beyond. Her primary goal is to help create a healthy environment in which each Mosaic member can thrive, leading in turn to a dynamic culture that supports clients and empowers employees.

In her 17+ years of HR/Talent Management across a variety of company types and sizes, Maggie has developed a deep expertise in what is needed to attract, develop, and retain top industry talent: The foundation of Mosaic’s business model. She is particularly skilled in building trust and partnerships across all organizational levels, enhancing leadership capabilities, and refining processes and programs to help elevate both employee experience and company performance. As a dedicated advocate for people, Maggie is passionate about building a diverse, inclusive, and highly-engaged workforce.

Christilyn Graff

SVP, Head of Research

Christilyn brings a passion for developing people, teams, and drugs. With 25 years of experience in protein and antibody engineering, she has advanced clinical candidates in novel biology and established biological pathways. Formerly a Senior Director at Biogen, she expanded the early biologics portfolio and led efforts on antibody platforms, building internal capabilities, identifying opportunities for platform partnerships, and negotiating terms on three public and several non-public deals.

Over her career, she has led several cross-functional initiatives impacting the Discovery Research and R&D ecosystems. Efforts included leadership of data pipelining initiatives to enable machine learning models, and the comprehensive rebuild of the Tissue Enhanced Delivery group with a focus on systemic central nervous system delivery.

As a fierce advocate for employee and team development, she represented R&D Project Leaders on the R&D Leadership team, focusing on areas of optimization and initiatives to develop leaders and team members. She is recognized for creating a strong team culture, sense of community, and diverse coalitions to advance initiatives.

Christilyn received her PhD in Chemical Engineering from MIT.

Javed Khan PhD

Sr. Director Protein Sciences and Analytics

Javed brings over 20 years of experience in drug discovery, specializing in protein sciences, protein engineering, and structural biology. As a Senior Director at Mosaic, he leads three functional groups within the Protein Science & Analytics teams, driving innovative research and development initiatives.

Before joining Mosaic, Javed was a Director at Bristol-Myers Squibb, where he rose from scientist to leadership positions, collaborating with cross-functional matrix teams across various therapeutic areas, including biologics and small molecules. His efforts advanced over 60 drug discovery programs, resulting in several clinical candidates and two FDA-approved drugs, showcasing his commitment to innovation in drug development.

Javed holds a Ph.D. in biophysics and crystallography complemented with postdoctoral research in structural biology at Columbia University. He has co-authored over 50 international peer-reviewed papers, reflecting his dedication to research and thought leadership.

Subhendu Chakraborti PhD

Director, Antibody Discovery and Optimization

Subhendu brings more than 15 years of experience in leading antibody discovery, engineering, and optimization efforts in diverse settings encompassing start-ups and large pharma. At Mosaic he is leading the Antibody Discovery and Optimization team. Subhendu joined Mosaic from Pfizer where he lead efforts to implement multiple in-vitro technologies, construct complex libraries, and develop HTS-based discovery workflows to discover, optimize, and engineer mono- and multi-specific therapeutic antibodies. He also lead portfolio projects in inflammation-immunology and immuno-oncology. Prior to joining Pfizer, he was an early member at Avitide (acquired by Repligen) where he lead efforts to set up core in-vitro technologies and NGS-based work flows for high-throughput discovery of affinity ligands.

Prior to joining industry he managed the Molecular Biology Core at the Stanford School of Medicine where he was leading the effort to build shark and llama antibody libraries for radioligand theragnostics.

Subhendu did his PhD in structural enzymology from the University of Delaware and his postdoctoral training with Dr. Andrew Bradbury at Los Alamos National Lab and with Dr. James Marks at University of California, San Francisco.
