More than 720 bioscience companies are located in Colorado including agricultural, biotechnology, diagnostic, digital health, medical device, and pharmaceutical companies. While Boulder has a history of leadership in nucleic acid technologies, it is emerging as a leading center for protein therapeutics. Biologics, for example, recently established a large-scale biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility here in Boulder. During the first quarter of 2021, Colorado’s life science companies raised a combined $704 million in funding.

In addition to Life Sciences, Boulder is home to a wide range of technology companies, including clean tech, information technology, and aerospace. In addition to the University of Colorado, Boulder is home to 7 National laboratories employing thousands of scientists, including NCAR, NOAA, and NIST.

Boulder is consistently recognized as one of the foodiest towns in America. Annual cultural events include the Colorado Music Festival, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, and the Downtown Art Fair. Boulder has many music venues including the Boulder Theater, eTown, the Fox theater, the Dairy Center, and just a short drive away, possibly the best venue in the country, Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Boulder is only a 30 minute drive from downtown Denver, where you can vist the city's many cultural attractions, including museums, concerts and theater. Professional sports teams include the Denver Broncos, Nuggets, the Colorado Rockies, Rapids and Avalanche.
